Xbox Live Gamer Card |

I thought this was cool. I can post my gamer card on my website. It auto updates when ever any of my info changes. So here it is:

As you can see I’m pretty mid range on the number of stars I have. I’ve only had my xbox 360 since June, and only have 2 games. I recently got a gold membership to xbox live so I can start playing other people online. The more I do this the more my stars will go up or down, depending on how well I do.

The number next to to G is called the Gamer score. It changes as I unlock achieve new goals in games. The more goals you achieve the higher your number. At the time of this posting I’m at a 730. Pretty mid range. But what do you expect with only having 2 games. Treah thinks it’s because I’m not 16 anymore and actually have to go to work and have a life outside of the xbox. I guess she’s got a point, but I think having more games would definitely help my score!

The bottom has icons of the last couple games I have played. You can click on the icons and it will tell you the achievements I have unlocked on each game. There are some games on there (Frogger, Galaga, Street Fighter, etc.) that I have only downloaded the demos. Demo games don’t allow you to unlock achievements.

I really want to change my image on my card. There are only a couple images that come preloaded with the xbox 360. I saw one on the xbox live market place with the flying WV. I haven’t decided if it’s worth paying $2-3, for a picture. You did get 3 pictures for that price though. One of the Flying WV, one of a WVU football helmet, and one of the mountaineer. Hopefully soon some one will figure out how to put on your own custom gamer pictures for free.

***EDIT***
Sorry folks, I just realized that if you click on the gamer card it doesn’t show you any of my info unless you are logged in with my account info. I don’t plan on sharing that, so if you’re REALLY interested just ask and I can post what you’re looking for.

WVU Jacksonville Campus |

By now I’m sure most of you know about google maps. Some one on the blue gold news forums told everyone to check out Alltel Stadium. This is in Jacksonville, FL and is the home of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.

Here’s what you see if you look up the stadium in google maps:

It looks like google took the satellite image of the stadium following the WVU vs Maryland Gator Bowl in 2003-2004. This was the game Treah and I went to with the rest of the Boyer crew. Pretty interesting.

Here’s some pics from our trip: Gator Bowl Pics

RIP Old Friend |

Well I finally did it. I bought a new hat. I don’t do this all that often. So to me its like the changing of the guards. I think my old hat was about 5 years old. My parents, grandparents, and wife have been begging me to replace it for about 3 years now. My thought was that it was just starting to get warn in.

I decided this weekend that it was time for a new one. I was wearing it and couldn’t figure out what smelled so bad. I quickly realized it was coming from my hat. 5 years of sweat was starting to take it’s toll. Luckily, Treah said she couldn’t smell it yet.

This hat has been through a lot. I have warn it almost everyday at one point or another. In the last 5 years it has seen:

  • Me get Married
  • Me and Treah graduate from WVU, then start again
  • Me have 5 positions at work, all while working for the same place
  • My brother graduate, twice
  • Dad turning 50
  • Mom and Dad’s 25th Anniversary
  • Moves to and/or from 2 apartments, and 1 house
  • Getting a dog
  • WVU Men’s Basketball Team make it to the elite 8, then to the sweet 16
  • WVU Football go to 4 bowl games, including a win in a BCS bowl
  • I’m sure there is more to add to the list, I’ll add them as I remember or as people comment
  • Here’s a new and old pic, see if you can figure out which is which. Click on them for bigger versions.

If the football or basketball team starts to suck, I’m switching back to my old hat.

Back in Morgantown |

We made the trip back from Williston today. We left just before 7:00am this morning, and made it back to our house around 6:00pm. We made good time considering the heavy rain we hit in Pennsylvania and Maryland. We only made a couple quick stops for bathroom breaks and gas. We hit drive threws for breakfast and lunch and ate on the road.

The kennel is only open from 6:00pm-7:00pm on Sundays. We didn’t think we’d be back in time to pick Vandy up. However, we made such good time that we were able to get her tonight instead of tomorrow morning. That made Treah happy.

I had a great time this week, but it feels good to be home. I can’t wait to sleep in a bed tonight where my feet won’t be hanging off the end.

Speaking of that, I’m off to bed. Work comes early tomorrow =(

Summer Vacation 2006 |

Treah and I have spent the last week on our “Summer Vacation.” Treah finished up her 3rd year of med school and only has 2 weeks off before her 4th year starts. We thought that we’d travel and go see some family we don’t get to see very often. Treah’s parents came up on Friday, June 16th. This was her birthday. They stayed through Wednesday to do some work on the house and to dog sit for us. When they left Wednesday they dropped her off at the kennel for us.

We left Morgantown, WV on Sunday, June 18th and drove 8 hours up to Herkimer, NY. Treah’s grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins live there. This is the town her Dad grew up in. While in NY we:

  • Went on a boat tour of the Erie Canal
  • Went on a geocache
  • Did some home work
  • Did a lot of visiting with family

We stayed in NY until Wednesday afternoon, and then drove the 4.5 hours over to Williston, VT. This is the general area where most of my side of the family lives. Since being in VT we have:

  • Found a geocache
  • Planted a new geocache
  • Gone to the Chew Chew Festival on the lake front of Burlington. This was a food festival. A bunch of the restaurants from Burlington came and set up tents. Everyone bought tokens and traded the tokens for food. Ben and Jerry’s was there and introduced there new ready made milkshakes. They were pretty good, but I don’t see myself buying any of them
  • Went to my parent’s company picnic at Button Bay State Park
  • Went to a horse show at my Aunt’s horse farm. This was the first one I had been to. I was kind of lost at first, but luckily my cousin Molly was there explaining everything to me. She competed for years until she went to college. While at the farm, we went and saw the two new baby horses. It was interesting to see the similarities in a baby horse and a puppy.
  • Overall, it’s been a busy and fun week. I can’t believe all we have done. We’re heading home tomorrow, and I’m really not looking forward to the 12 hour car ride we’ve got in front of us. Oh well, I have to be back at work Monday morning. Check out Treah’s Blog, she has some pictures up of the trip.
